TRAP Team

Mission

Central Trap uses shooting sports to teach and demonstrate sportsmanship, firearm safety, honesty, integrity, and teamwork to all students who are a part of the Central Trap Team. Every student athlete, regardless of skill level, has the opportunity to compete in team-based shooting sports.

Competition

The Trap Team competes during the fall and spring months. Every student athlete who is a part of the Central Trap Team has the opportunity to compete at the Varsity, JV, and Novice levels.  Our Trap Shooting program participates in the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League, and a typical high school season consists of 9 weeks, 5 of which are competition shooting weeks. Each student athlete earns the opportunity to shoot at the MSHSCTL Championship Tournament every year.

Ammunition is provided for all events and practices. Participants must be at least 12 years old, in 6th grade, and need to have completed a firearms safety course. Participants are expected to provide the following equipment:

  • Firearm in case
  • Safety Equipment (eye and ear protection)
  • Shell bag or shell belt
