Student Council
The deep hope of our Student Council is to enhance Central culture by providing enjoyable opportunities for students to connect, grow, serve, encourage, compete, and play together. We will strive to align these opportunities with our school mission statement and values. We will build community because we are Better Together. We will provide ways to Bridge the Gap between student groups and our community at large. We will encourage growth in the hearts and minds of our peers. And, we will strive to Build Trust within our hallways.
Middle School Student Council
Middle School Student Council provides a great leadership opportunity for students. Comprising of 2-4 students from each grade level, Middle School StuCo meets as a group throughout the year to help plan the Fall Lock-In, Spirit Week themes and games, and seasonal parties. Students who are interested in actively participating and contributing in this way are invited to fill out an application within the first month of school and return it to the Student Council Advisor.
High School Student Council
The High School Student Council is a great leadership opportunity for our high school students. Council members are expected to attend monthly meetings. They provide input to plan and participate in community building events for the student body throughout the year. They serve their classmates by being their voice with new ideas and changes they want to see made around school.
The Council consists of 14 members - 4 senior class officers, 4 junior class officers, 3 sophomore class officers, and 3 freshman class officers. Students are nominated by their classmates or by volunteer nomination and are voted into office by their classmates. These students also serve as class officers and hold meetings with their respective classes throughout the year to gather ideas and plan class events. As class representatives, they bring ideas from their classmates to full Student Council meetings as well.
The 15th member of our Student Council is the Student Body President. This Senior student is nominated by teachers, classmates, or by volunteer nomination and is voted into office by the entire high school student body. In addition to serving on the Student Council, the Student Body President serves as the student body representative with proposals to teachers, administration, and the school board. This student leads and serves throughout the entire school year.
