Track at Central
Mission
To bring glory to God through team running, throwing, and jumping. We will strive to develop a cohesive team where each person uses their God given talents and their best effort through progressive training to create a greater whole than each individual person.
Team Goals
- Above all, Christ: 1 Timothy 4:8
- Progression: Leave Track Program a better person than when you entered it
- Teamwork: We are a team! Celebrate as a team!
- Work Ethic: Hard work produces good habits, and good habits create success.
High School Track
Our Track team competes during the spring months, with practices beginning the middle of March. Meets run through the end of the school year, with post-season activity potentially running into June. Depending on participation numbers and ability levels, Central offers students the opportunity to compete at the Varsity and Middle School levels. Our Track program participates in the Camden Conference, and a typical high school season consists of 8-10 meets.
Transportation is provided to all away events. Uniforms are provided. Athletes are expected to provide their own socks and track shoes. Track spikes are required for all varsity runners. Leggings and undershirts are suggested for cool weather (the coach will inform you of color expectations).
Middle School Track
The Middle School season runs simultaneously to the high school season during the spring, with practices beginning in March. A typical middle school season includes 5-6 meets.
Transportation is not provided for away events; however school does assist in organizing parent-provided transportation. Uniforms are provided, with the exception of socks and track shoes. (Legging and undershirts are suggested for cool weather).
