Fun Fact or something you like to do:
I enjoy spending time either at our rustic cabin, camping, or in the Boundary Waters.  One of my favorite animals is the timber wolf.  Wolves were the subject of my senior research in college.

Share about your relationship with Christ
I was raised in a Christian home and do not remember a time that I didn't know Jesus, but my relationship with Christ flourished in my college days because of a woman who mentored me.  Angela is a person who "oozes Jesus" and she became an example of what it means to love and serve others out of a heart of gratitude rather than a heart of compulsion.   I have more recently been pondering what it means to "rest in Christ".  As a person who likes to be doing things all of the time, I'm not necessarily good at resting, either physically or spiritually. I have found great encouragement in learning to rest in Christ's promises to me and to realize more and more that my identity is found in Jesus and not in what I do.

How is Jesus taught in your classroom?
My deep hope for my students is that as we recognize God's beauty and order through our study of mathematical processes, we will become critical thinkers who are able to see how deeply broken the world is and realize how much we need Christ’s redemptive work. I love to share stories with my classroom about things that are happening in my life.  I've been able to share my cancer story, how I've seen Jesus to be faithful in my life and the lives of my husband and children, and we have looked at chaotic world events in light of sin and Christ's redemptive plan.
