Biography

What do you teach?
Middle School Social Studies (Old World History, World Geography, Minnesota History, US History)

Fun Fact or something you like to do:
I love photography, hunting for Lake Superior Agates, exploring God's creation, playing the bass, going to Broadway shows, traveling Minnesota (especially the North Shore) with my family, and painting during the summer with my friends.

Share about your relationship with Christ
I have always grown p in a Christian home with loving parents who share the story of Jesus with me from a very young age. When I was 8 years old, I was at daily vacation Bible school and my teacher asked me if I wanted Jesus to live in my heart. That day I prayed with Mary S. and asked Jesus to come into my heart. As I attended Christian schools all of my life, I was learning more about Jesus and growing in my faith. When I was a freshman at Dordt College, I made the decision to publicly profess that Iw anted to live my life forever for Jesus. Since then life has been full of ups and downs, challenges and struggles, yet the one steadfast thing has always been Jesus!

How is Jesus taught in your classroom?
We look to see how God has been sovereign in all of History. As we see the evidence of His work in History, we also look for it in our own lives. We get to share with each other during our squad time in the morning and see how God has answered prayers. Most of all, I hope Jesus is seen through how we interact and care for each other in our Middle School. Each day we have a new opportunity to live out His calling on our lives and become more like Jesus. Do we always succeed? Of course not, but it is then that we get to experience and share His mercy and grace for our selves and with others.
